Enabling AerFin’s First A320neo Teardown in Asia-Pacific
Challenges
This project involved managing a complex mix of operational, regulatory, and coordination constraints under tight timelines, all executed remotely from Singapore. Operating within a Philippine Free Trade Zone required strict permit scheduling with 3–5 day approval windows for each component removal, creating potential risks to teardown timelines. Simultaneously, outbound logistics had to be closely synchronised with ongoing MRO disassembly to ensure sold parts were shipped without disrupting workflow. The challenge was further intensified by the need to handle high-value, time-critical assets including two unserviceable PW1100 engines, which required rapid export clearance and seamless onward freight coordination via Singapore.
Our Approach
Proactive Planning and Regulatory Control
Early permit planning and proactive scheduling aligned with teardown milestones ensured smooth approvals and fully compliant FTZ movements without delays.
Structured Remote Management
Weekly coordination and defined workstreams ensured full visibility across all teams.
Local Execution with Regional Control
Crating and part preparation were managed by the Philippines team with Singapore oversight ensuring alignment with AerFin’s downstream requirements.
Results
- Successfully delivered AerFin’s first A320neo teardown in Asia-Pacific with a 30-day nose-to-tail disassembly and zero logistics delays.
- Ensured smooth regulatory compliance, rapid regional positioning of high-value components and full inventory traceability to strengthen Asia-Pacific aftermarket supply chains.
